A Night Among The sky
My inspiration behind this piece is the northern lights. I think is so beautiful how the colors all come together. I’ve always wanted to see and be there in a first handed experience so when I was assigned this project it was a perfect opportunity. I thought It would be a perfect time because water color blends well and so does the norther nights. So once I started to work on my piece it really started to come together.
To do this piece it took a lot of time and effort. First I had to create a wash for the sky then added water to the blue to create darker and lighter colors. Once I got all my paint colors ready I beg to apply them onto my paper. The lighter part of the sky came from the was and the darker was just more layers of blue. Finally the trees were probably the most difficult part. Once I had established the base I took a flat brush to create the trees and branches then made the brush even more flat and took the paint from my base moving it upwards.
The Reflection In Her Eyes
The Reflection In Her Eyes
My inspiration behind this piece is my eyes. My assignment was to draw something that has to do with a reflection and I just thought bout the reflection in my eyes. I thought about the reflection in my eyes because that’s the best feature on a person. So I went through my pictures and found one that had a great reflection with me holding my phone in my eyes.
I would have to say this was the hardest piece I had done. I say this because you have to do everything totally backwards. All the parts that need to be dark you would have to leave it and start with the lighter areas. Also it was even harder because if you had gotten white in black spots you could not erase it. Even though it was very hard it helped me to get over challenging thing and become a better artist.

Portrait
My inspiration behind this piece is this ladies smile. I chose this picture because she was smiling and that is also another great feature! When anyone is looking at someone they first thing they look at is their eyes then their smile. So the fact that she has a great smile made the picture come together. You know what they say a smile is worth a million words.
This was the first piece I have even done and I feel like it was really challenging. It also took a lot of time and effort because mapping everything was hard. It was hard because we were taking a smile little picture and enlarging it on a big canvas. Another hard thing was creating the contrast. Making things darker required a lot of cross hatching and a lot of different values.
A City In Perspective
My inspiration behind this piece is a big city in New York. I chose a big city because it has more life then a small city with nothing. It has more of a view and it has more details. You can find more things in a big city then a small little town that has couple of stores. So I think adding all the stores and builds would make the picture more realistic a detailed.
I would say this would have to be one of the easiest project we had to do. I say this because we used a ruler the whole time and had to make things go parallel or to the vanishing point. Then we had to erase the left over lines to to separate the buildings. Adding the signs were hard because making the symbol match the original would be kind of hard. The hardest part of the project was adding the shading because it had to come from the way of the sunlight and it had to reflect onto the street to let you know the angle of the sun.
Elements and Principles
My inspiration behind this project would have to be Winnie The Pooh. I say thing because growing up I would watch it every morning when I got up. Plus it was a very easy thing to draw considering that I would have to draw it over and over again. So I thought it would be a great to have him because he could be doing a lot of things in the woods to help with the elements and principles.
I did this piece with colored pencils it it was somewhat hard creating the different textures on the paper along with the color. At first it was had to create the color of the fur but once I added different colors it really started to come together. Another challenging thing would have to be finding something that could relate to it. Like when you I had him sitting on the wood like seat it was hard to think of that. Overall the piece came out really well and I’m glad because along the way he helped me remember what all 14 elements and principles there was.
A Sight To See
My inspiration behind this piece is elephants and cold weather, because I love both. I love elephants because they’re my favorite animal. The fact that they’re so big and you can ride them I find that really awesome. I also love the cold weather because I’d rather be cold than hot. I also like surrealism so combining the two favorite things I love just made the piece even better.
I did this piece with tempera paint and It was kind of hard because that was my first time working with paint. I created this piece with a really big flat brush from the backgrounds that was i could cover more of the canvas. A used a round brush for my mountains and my elephant. I needed to use it that way I could add more detail to make the mountain more realistic and give elephant qualities to the elephant.
Kanaloa God of The Sea Tiki Sculpture
My inspiration behind this piece is Kanaloa because he’s the God of The Sea. I like this because I love the ocean and I love to swim. I also liked the fact that he had squid like dreadlocks, because that’s so cool considering its life a squid. Another thing i really likes about it was you could add sea like qualities to the tiki making it look more like the God himself.
Creating this piece took a lot of time but a lot more effort! I say this because the scoring and slabbing took a lot of time because anything you had to add to the piece and to go through that process. Creating little pieces here and there were pretty easy but making everything on his face look the same was really hard. So when i would cut out his eyebrow or eye i would lay it over another piece of clay that was i would cut of the same shape and size. But I think that this was out funniest project because working with clay way really fun and the way it turned out was great.
